Dinghy Tour to Asinara from Stintino with Aperitif
Sail along wild coastlines, swim in natural pools, and discover the secrets of Sardinia's most protected island.
This Asinara dinghy tour from Stintino takes you along one of the most unspoiled stretches of the Sardinian coastline, combining open-sea navigation, guided swimming stops, and a closing aperitif aboard a modern inflatable vessel. The experience is rated easy, making it accessible to most travellers with no prior sailing or diving experience required.
The journey begins at the port of Stintino, where you board a Stingher 686 X inflatable boat equipped with a sundeck, freshwater shower, and climbing ladder. As the boat moves north, the famous pale sands of La Pelosa beach and its historic watchtower come into view, offering a memorable introduction to the northwestern tip of Sardinia.
Once inside the Asinara National Park, a certified environmental guide narrates the island's layered history: from its role as a maximum-security penitentiary to its transformation into a marine protected area teeming with rare wildlife. The commentary adds depth to what is already a visually striking landscape of crystalline water and rugged terrain.
Three scheduled swimming stops give participants ample time to snorkel, float, or simply absorb the surroundings. The itinerary draws from four possible locations depending on sea conditions, ensuring the best experience on the day of your visit.
Tour Highlights
Swim and snorkel at the Natural Pools of Fornelli or Cala Grande, sheltered spots inside the national park.

Travel on a modern Stingher 686 X dinghy with full safety equipment, electric motor, and sun awning.
Explore Cala Spalmatore and Secca del Cavallo, two of the park's most transparent and secluded anchorages.
Itinerary
The group boards the Stingher 686 X at the port of Stintino. The guide introduces safety procedures and outlines the day's route before the boat heads northwest toward the Asinara channel.
The boat passes close to La Pelosa beach, allowing passengers to photograph the shallow turquoise bay and its sixteenth-century watchtower from the water. This section of the coastline marks the boundary between the open sea and the protected marine area.
The first anchor drop takes place at one of two sheltered coves within the national park. Participants enter the water for swimming and snorkelling while the guide describes the marine ecosystem below the surface.
Two further stops are made at locations selected based on conditions on the day. The Fornelli Natural Pools and Cala Grande are both known for their exceptional water clarity and relatively calm conditions.
As the boat turns back toward the mainland, an aperitif is served on deck. The return crossing offers a final view of the Asinara coastline before docking at the port of Stintino.
