The tour departs from Muscat heading southwest toward Nizwa, the historic former capital of Oman. The drive takes you through open desert and mountain terrain as the landscape transitions from coastal flatlands to the interior.

Upon arrival in Nizwa, the group visits the famous Nizwa Fortress, which dates to the 17th century and served as the primary military stronghold of the region. Today it functions as a museum, offering exhibits on local history, traditional weapons, and the fort's architectural design. From the top, visitors can survey the old city and the surrounding mountain ridges.

Adjacent to the fortress, the Nizwa Souq is one of the most authentic traditional markets in the Arabian Peninsula. Vendors offer handmade silver Khanjar daggers, locally thrown pottery, woven textiles, spices, fish, and fresh meats. The souq reflects the commercial traditions that have made Nizwa a regional trade hub for centuries.

The tour continues to Al Hamra, a well-preserved mud-brick village that illustrates the architectural and social customs of traditional Omani communities. The multi-story structures, built from mud and stone, were designed to withstand both the harsh climate and historical conflicts. Walking through the village provides a tangible sense of how generations of families organized their daily lives.

The final stop is Misfah Al Abryeen, a small hilltop village situated at the base of Jebel Shams in the western Hajar Mountains. The village is notable for its functioning Falaj system, a network of ancient channels that diverts mountain water to irrigate date palms, fruit trees, and gardens. Marked walking paths allow visitors to explore the terraced fields and stone alleyways at their own pace.

In the late afternoon, the group departs from Misfah Al Abryeen and travels back to Muscat. The return journey follows the same mountain road, offering a second opportunity to take in the dramatic interior scenery of Oman.
