Boat Trip to Li Galli and Capri Islands from Amalfi
Sail from Amalfi to the legendary shores of Li Galli and Capri aboard a classic Gozzo from Sorrento.
This Amalfi to Capri boat tour takes you beyond the ordinary, combining the protected waters of the Li Galli marine reserve with the iconic sea caves, sea stacks, and hidden coves of Capri in a single seven-hour journey.
Departing from the port of Amalfi on a traditional Gozzo, the route first traces the celebrated Amalfi Coast before anchoring at the private Li Galli islets, where crystal-clear waters invite swimming in one of the most secluded corners of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The crossing continues to Capri, where a circumnavigation of the island reveals landmarks visible only from the water.
On board, a caprese sandwich, fresh fruit, and drinks are provided during a relaxed lunch break near the Faraglioni. The itinerary also includes a three-hour independent stop on Capri, giving guests time to explore the island on their own terms before the return leg calls at the Punta Campanella marine park for a final swim.
Tour Highlights
Swimming stop at the protected Li Galli marine park, a cluster of private islets with exceptional water clarity.
Boat tour of Capri including Grotta Meravigliosa, Grotta Bianca, and Grotta Verde viewed from the sea.
Passage past the Natural Arch, the Faraglioni sea stacks, and the lighthouse of Punta Carena.
View of Curzio Malaparte's famous villa, perched dramatically on the southeastern cliffs of Capri.
Three hours of free time to explore Capri independently on foot or by local transport.
Final swimming stop inside the Punta Campanella marine protected area on the return voyage.
Welcome drink on boarding and an on-board lunch of caprese sandwich, fruit, and drinks included.
Itinerary
Guests meet the skipper at the port of Amalfi and board the traditional Gozzo with a welcome drink. The vessel then departs and begins navigating along the Amalfi Coast toward the Li Galli archipelago.
The first anchor drop is at the Li Galli islets, a protected marine park and private archipelago once owned by Rudolf Nureyev. Guests swim in turquoise waters that remain largely undisturbed by commercial traffic.
Arriving at Capri, the Gozzo circles the island with stops at Grotta Meravigliosa, Grotta Bianca, and Grotta Verde. The route also passes the Natural Arch, Villa Malaparte, the Faraglioni, and Punta Carena lighthouse.
A free-time stop near the Faraglioni allows for swimming and snorkelling in clear open water. Lunch — a caprese sandwich, fruit, and drinks — is served on board during this break.
Guests disembark for three hours to visit the island independently, with access to the town of Capri, the Gardens of Augustus, or the funicular to Anacapri. The crew waits at the marina for the agreed departure time.
The return journey includes a surprise prepared by the crew and a final swimming stop inside the Punta Campanella marine protected area. The Gozzo arrives back at Amalfi in the late afternoon.
