Tour Itinerary
Standing sentinel across the Waitemata Harbour, the Auckland Harbour Bridge is the only road crossing connecting the central business district to the North Shore. Your guide will share the engineering history and strategic importance of this iconic structure.
Positioned at the entrance to the Waitematā Harbour, Maungauika served as a key coastal defence site. Three disappearing gun batteries were constructed here in the 1880s in response to fears of a Russian invasion, and these remarkable structures remain on site today.
At 196 metres, Mount Eden is the tallest of Auckland's 52 volcanoes and offers sweeping views across the city and its twin harbours. The summit crater itself is considered sacred in Maori tradition and adds a layer of cultural significance to the visit.
Opened in 1913, the Wintergardens sit within the historic Auckland Domain and house rare and exquisite plant collections including a celebrated chrysanthemum display. The ornate glasshouse structures are themselves an architectural highlight.
Holy Trinity Cathedral is recognised as the world's only Pacific-Gothic cathedral, blending architectural traditions from two distinct cultural legacies. Adjacent St. Mary's Church is constructed almost entirely from heart Kauri timber and stands as one of the few Gothic-style timber churches in the world. Note: afternoon tours visit the Rose Garden instead of the cathedral due to closing times.
