Highlights of Kvarner to North Dalmatia Cruise
Eight days of island-hopping through Croatia's most spectacular archipelagos, from Kvarner Bay to the shores of northern Dalmatia.
This Croatia island cruise takes you through some of the most scenically diverse waters in the Mediterranean, linking the Kvarner archipelago with the ancient coastal towns and protected national parks of northern Dalmatia.
Sailing aboard a superior-category vessel, guests move at a relaxed pace between islands, historic ports, and secluded coves. Each morning brings a new anchorage, and each evening invites exploration of a different waterfront town.
The route covers Krk, Rab, Zadar, the Kornati Islands, Lošinj, and Cres, weaving together natural landscapes, Roman-era ruins, and Adriatic seafaring culture into a single continuous journey.
Difficulty is graded very easy, making this cruise well-suited to a wide range of travellers who want to experience Croatia's islands without strenuous physical demands.
Tour Highlights
Walk the walled old town of Zadar, including the Roman Forum and the circular Church of Sveti Donat, with a local guide.
Explore medieval Rab, a town of four bell towers and three historic streets stretching along a narrow rocky promontory.
Cruise through the Kornati National Park, the largest and densest archipelago in the Adriatic Sea, comprising 147 islands and reefs.
Visit Lošinj, an island blanketed in pine forests and medicinal herbs, celebrated for its clean air and over 300 sunny days per year.
Hear the Sea Organ on Zadar's Riva promenade, a unique architectural installation that transforms wave energy into music.
Look out for dolphins in the waters around Lošinj, where more than 220 individuals are tracked by the Adriatic Dolphin Project.
Swim from the boat at secluded coves throughout the journey, with dedicated swimming breaks built into each day's sailing schedule.
Itinerary Overview
Embarkation in Rijeka between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, followed by a welcome drink and introductions on board. The vessel sails to a secluded cove for the first swim of the trip before mooring overnight at Krk town or Punat.
After breakfast the boat heads for the island of Rab, with a swimming stop in a sheltered bay along the way. A guided walk through Rab's old town reveals three historic streets, four churches with bell towers, and a lively harbour front.
The cruise leaves Kvarner Bay and crosses into northern Dalmatia, arriving in Zadar for a guided tour of the walled city. Highlights include the Roman Forum, the Church of Sveti Donat, the Cathedral of Sveta Stošija, and the Sea Organ on the Riva.
The boat passes through Proversa, the narrow entrance channel between Dugi Otok and Kornat, and cruises through the Kornati National Park. The night is spent anchored at one of the quieter islands of the Zadar archipelago, such as Dugi Otok, Zverinac, Molat, or Olib.
Sailing north toward Lošinj, the route passes through waters where dolphin sightings are regularly recorded. After a swimming break the vessel moors in Mali Lošinj for the evening.
A morning visit to the island of Cres, known for its olive groves and local lamb, is followed by a final overnight stop in Cres town. The last sailing day follows the eastern Istrian coastline back to Rijeka, with one final swim stop before disembarkation the following morning.
