5-Day Oman Package Tour: Muscat, Wadis, Desert and Mountains
From ancient forts and turquoise wadis to golden dunes and soaring canyon ridges across the Sultanate of Oman.
This 5-day Oman tour takes travelers through a layered cross-section of the Sultanate, connecting the capital Muscat with coastal wadis, a desert camp in the Wahiba Sands, and the highland villages of the Al Hajar Mountains. Each day introduces a distinct landscape and a different chapter of Omani heritage. The pace is moderate, with hiking, swimming, and 4x4 dune driving among the physical activities involved.
The itinerary moves outward from Muscat through Bimmah Sinkhole, Fins Beach, and the dramatic canyon of Wadi Shab before reaching the turtle breeding grounds at Ras al Hadd. Day three leads to the historic dhow-building city of Sur, a gazelle farm, and a night under canvas in the Wahiba Sands desert. Inland on day four, the route passes Bronze Age UNESCO-listed tombs at Izki, the terraced heights of Jebel Akhdar, and the ruins of Birkat Al Mouz before arriving in Nizwa.
The final day combines Nizwa Fort, the silver-craft souk, the old village of Al Hamra, and the mountain settlement of Misfah Al Abryeen before ascending to Jebel Shams, Oman's highest massif and the site of a canyon rim walk comparable in scale to the Grand Canyon. The tour concludes with a transfer back to Muscat for hotel drop-off or airport departure.
