You are transferred from the airport to your hotel in Reykjavik upon arrival. The rest of the day is free to explore the city, with optional visits to the Blue Lagoon or a hop-on-hop-off city sightseeing tour available.
The day covers the full Golden Circle route, beginning at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland's first parliament met in 930 AD. You then visit the Haukadalur geothermal area, where Strokkur erupts every five to ten minutes, and conclude at Gullfoss waterfall with its 32-meter two-tier drop.
This day follows Iceland's South Coast, stopping at Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, the Dyrhólaey Peninsula, and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. An optional Super Jeep excursion leads into the Katla Volcano Ice Cave before the group overnights near the town of Vik.
