          Opatija is a coastal resort town in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County of northwestern Croatia, located along the Adriatic Sea. Known for its Belle Époque architecture and pebble beaches, the town features the Lungomare waterfront promenade and nearby Angiolina Park with Mediterranean vegetation. Visitors typically stroll the scenic coastline, visit the Austro-Hungarian heritage sites, and explore small coves for swimming and relaxation.
          Opatija is located on the northeastern Istrian peninsula of Croatia, sheltered by Mount Ucka and facing the Kvarner Gulf, approximately 15 kilometres southwest of Rijeka. Established as a resort destination in the mid-19th century under Austro-Hungarian patronage, it remains one of the best-preserved examples of Habsburg-era coastal tourism architecture on the eastern Adriatic.
