Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré and Óbidos Private Tour
One day. Four legendary destinations. An unforgettable journey through the soul of Portugal.
This private tour from Lisbon to Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré and Óbidos takes you through some of Portugal's most iconic and historically significant sites in a single, carefully paced day. From sacred pilgrimage grounds to medieval town walls and dramatic Atlantic coastline, each stop offers a distinctly different encounter with Portuguese heritage.
The route connects four destinations that rarely disappoint, whether you are drawn to spiritual reflection, architectural history, coastal scenery, or the pleasure of wandering cobbled streets lined with centuries-old whitewashed houses. The private format means the pace adapts to your group, without the constraints of a shared coach tour.
Lunch is included at a restaurant serving traditional Portuguese cuisine, giving you a genuine taste of local food culture between morning and afternoon visits. The day is designed to feel generous with time at each stop, not rushed.

Itinerary
Your driver meets you at your hotel or agreed location in the Lisbon district. The journey north takes approximately one and a half hours, with the landscape gradually shifting from urban Lisbon to the rolling hills of central Portugal.
You have one and a half hours to explore the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima at your own pace. The vast esplanade, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, the Chapel of the Apparitions, and the modern Basilica of the Holy Trinity all stand within the sanctuary grounds. Whether approached as a place of faith or historical curiosity, the atmosphere is genuinely affecting.
The Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória in Batalha is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture on the Iberian Peninsula, built to commemorate the 1385 Battle of Aljubarrota. After the visit, lunch is taken at a local restaurant serving traditional Portuguese dishes, giving the day a natural mid-point to rest and eat well.
A fifteen-minute stop at Nazaré offers views over the dramatic Atlantic coastline. From the clifftop at Praia do Norte, on the right day and season, you may witness the extraordinary wave formations that have broken world surfing records. Even outside peak swell season, the coastal scenery and the fishing village below are well worth the detour.
The final stop is Óbidos, a walled medieval town that has changed little in appearance since the fifteenth century. Thirty minutes is enough to walk a section of the castle walls, stroll through the main street, and sample the local Ginjinha liqueur served in a small chocolate cup at one of the village shops before the return journey to Lisbon.
