All Inclusive Private Ephesus Day Trip from Istanbul by Plane
A fully guided private journey through ancient ruins, sacred sites, and timeless history — all in a single day.
This private Ephesus day trip from Istanbul takes you from hotel pickup in Istanbul to the archaeological heart of western Turkey and back, with round-trip flights, guided site visits, and lunch all included in one package.
Ephesus stands as one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean world, and this itinerary covers its most significant landmarks: the marble-paved Curetes Street, the Celsus Library, the Grand Theatre, and the Temple of Hadrian. The route also includes the House of Virgin Mary and St. John's Basilica, two sites of deep religious and historical significance.
Because this is a fully private tour, your group sets the pace. You can linger at a site, ask the guide for deeper context, or pause for photographs without the constraints of a shared group schedule.
The Artemission Temple — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World — is visited before returning to Izmir Airport for the evening flight back to Istanbul, where a representative will transfer you directly to your hotel.

Itinerary
Your guide arranges pickup from your Istanbul hotel and transfers you to Sabiha Gokcen Airport for the morning flight to Izmir. Upon landing, your licensed guide meets you at the arrivals hall with a name sign.
A 45-minute drive brings you to the entrance of Ephesus. The guided walk covers the State Agora, Odeon, Memmius Monument, Temple of Domitian, Polio Fountain, Curetes Street, Trajan Fountain, Baths of Scholastica, Temple of Hadrian, Latrina, Celsus Library, the Gate of Mazeus and Mithridates, Commercial Agora, and the Grand Theatre, which held 24,000 spectators in the Roman period.
Lunch is served in a local handicrafts center garden. The Terrace Houses — six residential units built on three terraces of Pion Mountain and decorated with wall frescoes and floor mosaics — are visited as part of the Ephesus complex.
The House of Virgin Mary sits in the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles from Ephesus. The site has been an official Catholic pilgrimage destination since 1892 and was visited by Pope Paul VI in 1967. St. John's Basilica, on Ayasolug Hill, is believed to mark the burial site of the Apostle John.
A brief visit to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, precedes the transfer to Izmir Airport. The approximately 80-minute flight returns the group to Istanbul, where a representative handles the hotel transfer.
