Overnight Tour to Cairo and Alexandria from Alexandria Port
Two days, five millennia of history, and one seamless private journey through Egypt's most iconic landmarks.
This overnight tour from Alexandria Port to Cairo and Alexandria is designed for cruise passengers who want to experience the full depth of Egypt without the stress of navigating independently. A private Egyptologist guide meets you personally at the port and stays with you throughout the entire journey.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your Egyptologist guide meets you at the cruise exit door with a name sign and escorts you to an air-conditioned vehicle for the approximately three-hour drive to Cairo. A rest stop is available along the route. Upon arrival, the tour begins at the Giza Plateau with visits to the three pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple of Chephren.
After Giza, you continue to the Egyptian Museum in central Cairo, which holds the world's largest collection of ancient Egyptian art spanning 5,000 years. The Tutankhamun gallery alone contains gold masks, jewelry, and royal objects sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years. Lunch is served at a local restaurant before you check in to your five-star Cairo hotel for the overnight stay.
The evening offers two optional experiences: a two-hour dinner cruise on the Nile River, or the Sound and Light show at the Giza Pyramids complex. Both require advance selection and are not included in the base tour price.
After breakfast at the hotel, your private guide transfers you back to Alexandria by air-conditioned vehicle. The first stop is the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, a multi-level Roman burial site dating to the early Roman period, rediscovered in 1900 after years of excavation efforts.
Next, you visit Qaitbay Citadel, a fifteenth-century fortress constructed at the entrance to Alexandria's eastern harbor on the precise location where the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. The tour then continues to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina for an interior visit before a final lunch during the excursion.
Following lunch, your guide returns you directly to the cruise terminal in time for final departure. The drop-off is coordinated to align with your ship's schedule, and no independent navigation is required at any stage of the tour.
