Trace three thousand years of pharaonic history across Luxor's West and East Banks in a single unforgettable day.
This Luxor full-day private tour offers a rare opportunity to explore the most significant monuments of ancient Egypt with a qualified Egyptologist guide at your side. From royal tombs carved into desert cliffs to towering temple complexes dedicated to the gods, every stop is chosen to deliver genuine historical depth. Round-trip transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle is included from your Luxor hotel or Nile cruise.
The itinerary spans both banks of the River Nile, beginning on the West Bank where pharaohs were laid to rest in rock-cut tombs and queens ruled with the authority of gods. The Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, the Colossi of Memnon, and the Valley of the Queens form a compelling sequence that covers the heart of New Kingdom funerary culture.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the tour continues on the East Bank with visits to Karnak Temple Complex and Luxor Temple, two of the largest and best-preserved religious sites in the world. Itinerary
Your Egyptologist guide collects you from your hotel, Nile cruise, or Luxor International Airport and escorts you to the Valley of the Kings. This royal necropolis houses the tombs of pharaohs including Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tutankhamun, Ramesses VI, Merenptah, and Amenhotep II.
The tour continues to the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for approximately 20 years during the 18th Dynasty between 1490 and 1469 B.C. She remains one of the most remarkable rulers in ancient Egyptian history.
A brief photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon is followed by a visit to the Valley of the Queens, where the elaborately decorated tomb of Queen Nefertari, Great Royal Wife of Ramesses II, is located.
Crossing to the East Bank, the group enjoys lunch at a local restaurant before entering Karnak Temple. This vast complex was dedicated to the god Amon, his consort Mut, and their son Khonsu, and was expanded by successive pharaohs over more than 2,000 years.
The final stop is Luxor Temple, originally built by Amenhotep III during the 18th Dynasty and later extended by Ramesses II in the 19th Dynasty. After the visit, you are transferred back to your hotel or Luxor International Airport.
