Kayak Sailing Adventure to Pulau Ubin
Harness the wind, explore the mangroves, and dine on the water at Singapore's last floating restaurant.
This is Singapore's first and only kayak sailing tour, combining Hobie pedal-drive kayaks with a rigged sail for a crossing from Pasir Ris Park to the wild shores of Pulau Ubin. No prior sailing or paddling experience is required, and the guided format keeps the experience accessible for most fitness levels.
The journey moves through two distinct environments. The open-water crossing lets participants work with wind and pedal power simultaneously, while the mangrove channels of Pulau Ubin call for a slower, quieter approach. Both segments offer their own rewards, from the rush of catching a good breeze to the stillness of a forest waterway at low tide.
The tour concludes at a working fish farm and floating restaurant that sits just off Pulau Ubin's coast, accessible only by water. Guests have the option to try a meal featuring barramundi, mussels, and other produce harvested from the farm itself. It is a practical and memorable way to close a half-day on the water.
Tour Highlights
Sail across the channel between mainland Singapore and Pulau Ubin using a rigged Hobie kayak — no experience needed.
The Hobie pedal-drive system gives you full forward control even when the wind drops, making the crossing manageable for beginners.
Pedal through the shaded mangrove channels of Pulau Ubin and observe kingfishers, herons, monitor lizards, and mudskippers in their natural habitat.
Keep watch for otters, wild boars crossing waterways, and a rich variety of birdlife along the channel banks.
Navigate Singapore's last wild frontier aboard a kayak that blends sailing and pedaling into a single, fluid experience.
Visit Singapore's last floating restaurant — a working fish farm reachable only by water — for an optional farm-to-table seafood meal.
Tour Itinerary
Meet your guide at the embarkation point in Pasir Ris Park. Life jackets and walkie-talkies are distributed, and guides cover safety protocols, group communication, and what to do in an emergency.
Before launch, your guide demonstrates how to open, trim, and close the sail, and how the Hobie pedal-drive integrates with wind steering. Most participants feel comfortable within a few minutes of practice.
Set sail from the shores of Pasir Ris Park and cross the channel toward Pulau Ubin. On breezy days, the sail adds genuine speed to the ride; on calmer days, the pedal drive keeps progress steady throughout.
Lower the sail and pedal into the sheltered waterways of Pulau Ubin's mangroves. Breathing roots, arching canopy, and abundant wildlife mark each bend in the channel, offering a sharp contrast to the open crossing.
The journey ends at Pulau Ubin's last floating seafood restaurant, accessible only by kayak or boat. An optional farm-to-table meal features barramundi and mussels harvested directly from the farm beneath the deck.
After the meal, participants paddle back to the mainland embarkation point. The return leg provides a relaxed close to the adventure before dispersing.
