Shipwreck Bay Kayak Fishing at Marina East
Pedal out to sunken structures, cast into thriving reef ecosystems, and fish beside some of the world's largest vessels.
Kayak fishing Singapore reaches a new level at Shipwreck Bay, where submerged wrecks have become productive reef systems sheltering groupers, snappers, and tuskfish just off the coast of East Coast Park.
Marina East Bay holds a network of sunken structures that have quietly transformed over the years into layered marine habitats. Corals, seagrass, and rocky bottoms provide cover for bottom-dwelling species, while larger predators patrol the fringes, creating the kind of fishing environment that rewards patience and good technique.
You will navigate the bay on a Hobie pedal kayak, a hands-free propulsion system that lets you focus entirely on your rod while covering a 3 to 5 kilometre route at a comfortable pace. The setup is accessible to complete beginners and experienced anglers alike.
Throughout the session, guides share background on the wrecks, the ecosystems that have developed around them, and Singapore's broader maritime history, giving the outing a cultural dimension beyond the catch itself.

What to Expect
Guides greet participants at Carpark B2, complete attendance and check-in, then walk everyone through safety protocols, walkie-talkie use, and group paddling guidelines. The briefing covers emergency procedures and comfort tips for time on the water.
Each participant is fitted with a life vest and introduced to their Hobie pedal kayak, with seat and pedal adjustments made for individual comfort. The guide demonstrates the pedal-drive mechanism and covers rod handling, bait preparation, rig setup, and bite recognition using Penn saltwater tackle.
The group sets off across Marina East Bay toward the shipwreck zone, passing anchored commercial vessels along the way. Guides provide context on the wrecks and the marine ecosystems that have developed around them.
Participants cast over sunken structures and rocky bottom terrain while guides assist with technique and use sonar to locate active fish. Target species include snappers, tuskfish, and groupers across a 3 to 5 kilometre stretch of bay.
