Full-Day Sailing Tour: Tavolara Marine Reserve and Cala Moresca from Olbia
Crystal-clear waters, limestone cliffs, and the wild north-eastern coast of Sardinia — all in one day at sea.
This sailing tour from Olbia takes you along one of the most celebrated stretches of Sardinian coastline, stopping at the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara or the secluded bay of Cala Moresca, depending on sea conditions and the skipper's guidance.
Departing from Olbia aboard the Oasis 33 sailing boat, the day begins with a swim stop at Capo Ceraso, where the sea floor is visible through water of remarkable clarity. From there, the route follows the wind and conditions toward either the island of Tavolara — a towering limestone mass rising from turquoise shallows — or the quieter waters near Figarolo and Cala Moresca.
Snorkelling equipment is available on board, giving participants the chance to explore the protected seabed of the Marine Area at close range. The crew prepares lunch using fresh local ingredients and traditional Sardinian recipes, served on deck between anchorages.
With a capacity of just six guests, the experience remains genuinely intimate. The skipper reads sea conditions daily to select the best available anchorages, so no two departures are identical — and sightings of dolphins in these waters are a real, if unscheduled, possibility.

Itinerary
Board the Oasis 33 at the Olbia departure point and receive a briefing from the skipper on the day's planned route, safety procedures, and available equipment including snorkelling gear and the SUP board.
The first anchorage is at Capo Ceraso, a headland known for shallow, transparent water and a sandy seabed suitable for swimming and light snorkelling. This stop is included in both itinerary variants.
Depending on sea conditions, the boat heads either toward the island of Tavolara — a protected reserve with vivid turquoise shallows — or into the calmer bay of Cala Moresca near the island of Figarolo. At least one additional swim stop is guaranteed at this stage.
With gear provided on board, guests can explore the protected seabed during anchorage stops. The rocky underwater formations and Posidonia meadows in this zone support a wide variety of marine species.
Between stops, the crew serves a prepared lunch on deck using fresh seasonal produce and Sardinian recipes. There is time to relax on the bow sundeck or use the SUP board during the meal break.
The sailing boat returns to the Olbia departure point in the late afternoon, completing an approximate eight-hour day on the water.
