First Scuba Dive at Isola Ruja from San Teodoro

This sea baptism in Sardinia invites first-time divers to discover the extraordinary underwater world of the Tavolara Marine Protected Area, just minutes from Puntaldia Marina. Guided by a certified instructor, participants explore the waters around Isola Ruja at a gentle depth of 4 to 5 metres, making the experience accessible to anyone curious about the sea.
The outing begins with a concise 15-minute theory briefing that covers the fundamental principles of breathing and movement underwater. No prior diving experience is required, and all necessary equipment is provided on board the inflatable Lomac vessel.
After the dive, guests are treated to a light snack served on deck while the boat traces a scenic return route past landmarks such as Cala Brandinchi, Lu Impostu, Salina Bamba, and Baia Salinedda. The entire excursion is designed to balance safety, comfort, and genuine discovery.

Itinerary
Board the Lomac inflatable vessel at Puntaldia Marina in San Teodoro. The crew provides a safety overview and distributes equipment before casting off.
During the 5-minute crossing to Isola Ruja, the instructor leads a 15-minute introductory lesson covering breathing techniques and basic underwater movement. The boat also passes in front of Isola Ruja and the famous beaches of the area.
The group anchors at Isola Ruja for approximately 50 minutes. Participants enter the water with full instructor guidance and explore the marine environment at a depth of around 4 to 5 metres.
After surfacing, guests enjoy a light snack of chocolate cookies, hot tea, and cold lemon tea on deck. The boat then returns to Puntaldia Marina along the scenic coastline.
