Ephesus and Pamukkale: Ancient Ruins and Natural Wonders in Two Days
Walk marble streets through centuries of history, then soak in the surreal white terraces of one of Turkey's most breathtaking landscapes.
This 2-day Ephesus and Pamukkale tour from Kusadasi combines two of Turkey's most visited and historically significant destinations in a single, carefully paced itinerary designed for small groups of no more than ten guests. From the ancient marble avenues of Ephesus to the calcium-white terraces of Pamukkale, each day offers a distinct and memorable experience. The intimate group size ensures focused attention from a professional guide throughout both days.
On the first day, guests explore the remarkably preserved ancient city of Ephesus, where colonnaded streets lead past monumental structures that defined one of the classical world's most prosperous urban centers. A visit to the House of Virgin Mary offers a quieter, more contemplative stop before entering the main archaeological site, and the tour concludes at the Temple of Artemis, one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The second day shifts to the natural landscape of Pamukkale, where mineral-rich thermal waters have carved cascading travertine basins into a gleaming white hillside rising roughly 200 meters above the surrounding plain. The adjacent ruins of Hierapolis, a Greco-Roman spa city, add a further layer of historical context to this already extraordinary setting. The return transfer offers flexible drop-off options including Kusadasi hotels and Denizli airport.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your guide meets you at your Kusadasi hotel and transfers you to the Ephesus region. The first stop is the House of Virgin Mary on the slopes of Mount Koressos, a pilgrimage site recognized by the Vatican where Mary is said to have lived out her final years.
Enter the main archaeological site and walk the central marble avenue past the State Agora, Odeon, Memmius Monument, Temple of Domitian, Pollio Fountain, Curetes Street, Trajan Fountain, Baths of Scholastica, Hadrian Temple, Latrina, and the iconic Celsus Library. The Grand Theatre, originally built in the 3rd century BC and expanded by the Romans to hold 24,000 spectators, closes this section of the tour.
The final stop of the day is the Temple of Artemis, once among the largest temples in the ancient world and listed by the poet Antipater as one of the Seven Wonders. After the visit, guests are transferred back to their Kusadasi hotel.
Following breakfast, guests are picked up from the hotel and driven to Pamukkale. The journey crosses the Aegean hinterland before the white cliffs of the travertine plateau come into view above the Menderes plain.
Guests explore the cascading calcium terraces of Pamukkale, where mineral spring water changes color depending on the angle of light. The adjacent ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers an extensive archaeological area including a necropolis, theatre, and thermal baths above the terraces.
After the visit, guests are transferred back to their Kusadasi hotel. Alternatively, drop-off can be arranged at Denizli airport or at a Pamukkale hotel upon prior request.
