From Sant'Antioco: RIB Tour Between Carloforte and Masua
A full-day voyage along one of Sardinia's most dramatic coastlines, with two possible routes shaped by wind and sea.
This RIB tour from Sant'Antioco takes you along the rugged south-western coast of Sardinia aboard a 9-metre maxi inflatable, with your skipper choosing the ideal route on the day. Whether the wind favours the island of San Pietro and the village of Carloforte, or the wild sea stacks and sea caves of Masua, the scenery and the swimming stops are equally rewarding.
Departing from the marina of Sant'Antioco, the journey unfolds across waters that shift from turquoise to deep cobalt, passing sea caves, sheer cliffs, and sheltered coves accessible only by boat. The skipper doubles as a local guide, sharing the history of these places as the vessel moves between stops.
Each route includes dedicated time in the water for swimming and snorkelling, a beach stop ashore, and a generous aperitif of Sardinian cheeses, cured meats, traditional breads, and local Vermentino wine served on board. The itinerary is adapted daily to weather conditions, so every departure offers a genuinely different experience.
The boat is equipped with a fresh water shower and is twin-engined for reliability and comfort. With a maximum capacity suited to a small group, the experience remains personal throughout the seven hours at sea.
Tour Highlights
Two distinct route options — San Pietro island or the Masua coastline — chosen on the day by your skipper according to wind and sea conditions.
Multiple swimming and snorkelling stops in clear, sheltered coves accessible only from the sea, including Cala Domestica or Giunco beach.
A one-hour visit ashore to the colourful fishing village of Carloforte on the San Pietro route, with free time to explore its streets independently.

An on-board aperitif of authentic Sardinian products including Carasau bread, local cheeses, salami, olives, and Vermentino wine.
Live commentary from an experienced skipper covering the geology, history, and legends of the coastline throughout the excursion.
A fresh water shower on board, allowing you to rinse off after swimming before relaxing for the return journey.
How the Day Unfolds
The day begins at the marina of Sant'Antioco. Once aboard the New Jolly Prince 29, the skipper briefs the group and confirms the route for the day based on wind and sea conditions.
The vessel moves along the coastline, passing sea caves, sea stacks, and dramatic cliff formations. On the San Pietro route, stops include Grotta del Pulpito, Grotta delle Oche, and Cala Fico. On the Masua route, highlights include the Faraglioni di Nebida and the caves in front of Pan di Zucchero.
Multiple stops are made in sheltered coves for swimming and snorkelling in clear water. Fins and masks can be used to explore the seabed in areas such as Porto Flavia, Grotta Sardegna, or the coves around San Pietro island.
Depending on the route, guests enjoy time on Giunco beach or Cala Domestica beach, with the option to relax on shore. On the San Pietro route, one hour of free time is allocated to explore the village of Carloforte on foot.
An aperitif is served on board featuring Sardinian cheeses, salami, Guttiau and Carasau bread, cherry tomatoes, artichokes, croutons, olives, water, soft drinks, and local Vermentino wine. The selection may vary slightly depending on daily availability.
After the final stop, the vessel heads back to the marina of Sant'Antioco, completing a full day at sea along one of Sardinia's least crowded and most scenic coastlines.
