Amazon Adventure Trip 4D/3N at Tapiri Anavilhanas Lodge
Trek, camp, and explore the creeks, rivers, and lakes of the Amazon jungle with expert local guides
This Amazon jungle tour takes travelers deep into one of the world's most biodiverse ecosystems, combining river navigation, forest trekking, and overnight camping into a single four-day experience. From the iconic meeting of the Rio Negro and the Amazon River to sleeping in hammocks under the rainforest canopy, each day introduces a new layer of Amazonian life.
Departing from Manaus, the journey moves through floating villages, oxbow lakes, and dense forest corridors, with opportunities to fish for piranha, spot caimans after dark, and swim alongside river dolphins. A visit to an indigenous community adds cultural depth, offering an authentic window into the traditions and rituals of the region's original inhabitants.
Accommodation at the Tapiri Anavilhanas Lodge provides private rooms with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and mosquito nets, giving guests a comfortable base between daily excursions. All meals are prepared with regional ingredients including fresh fish, local vegetables, and tropical fruits.
The moderate difficulty level means participants should be reasonably fit and comfortable walking on uneven jungle terrain, but no specialized expedition experience is required. Children and adults alike can take part in the guided activities under the supervision of knowledgeable local naturalists.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Guests are collected from their Manaus hotel and transported to Port Ceasa, where a boat journey reveals the famous meeting of the Rio Negro and Amazon Rivers. A stop at the floating village of Catalao offers a close encounter with the giant Pirarucu fish before continuing by car and speedboat to the Tapiri Anavilhanas Lodge.
The afternoon is devoted to motorized canoe excursions for piranha fishing and bird watching, followed by a sunset on the river. After dinner, the group returns by canoe for a night safari, during which the guide captures a caiman barehanded for a memorable photographic opportunity.
The day begins before dawn with a small canoe ride to experience the awakening of the forest, as birdsong replaces the nighttime silence. After breakfast, a three-and-a-half-hour jungle trek covers the flora, fauna, medicinal plants, and wildlife of the Amazon understory.
The afternoon includes a visit to an indigenous community for a ritual celebration of traditional dance and song, followed by wildlife spotting in the Varzea area of the Ariau River. The evening closes with a night safari by motorboat along the river, scanning the banks for nocturnal animals.
Morning kayaking takes the group through local forest streams before the highlight of the day: swimming with the legendary pink river dolphins of the Amazon. This free-swimming encounter provides exceptional opportunities for photography and direct wildlife interaction.
In the afternoon, the group departs for an overnight campout deep in the forest, sleeping in hammocks fitted with mosquito nets. Food is prepared communally over the campfire while the guide shares local legends and identifies the sounds of the jungle night.
After a camp breakfast prepared by the guide, the group completes a final morning trek through the jungle, learning more about the ecosystems and animals that define this remarkable region. The group then returns to the lodge for lunch and a period of preparation before the journey back.
The return trip retraces the route by speedboat and car, arriving in Manaus in the afternoon. Guests are dropped off at their hotels, bringing the four-day adventure to a close.
