Itinerary Overview
Your driver-guide meets you at Keflavik Airport arrivals hall. The first stop is the Blue Lagoon for a restorative soak in geothermal waters, followed by optional visits to the Old Akranes Lighthouse, Deildartunguhver hot spring, and Hraunfossar waterfall. The night is spent near Borgarnes.
A full day on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula takes in Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellsfoss, the Black Church of Búðir, the sea cliffs and coastal arch at Arnarstapi, and the seal colony at Ytri Tunga Beach. The group returns to the same hotel near Borgarnes for a second night.
The route covers Þingvellir National Park, the vivid blue waters of Brúarfoss Waterfall, the Geysir Geothermal Area with erupting Strokkur, and Gullfoss Waterfall. Optional activities include a snowmobile tour on Langjökull glacier or snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of Silfra fissure.
The South Coast leg visits Seljalandsfoss, where a path leads behind the falls, then Skógafoss with its 60-meter drop, and finally Reynisfjara black sand beach with its distinctive basalt columns. Optional activities include a glacier hike on Sólheimajökull or a visit to the DC3 plane wreck on Sólheimasandur.
The day centres on Jökulsárlón, a 200-meter-deep glacial lagoon fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, and Diamond Beach across the road where icebergs wash ashore on black sand. Optional boat experiences include amphibian boat tours, Zodiac rides, and winter blue ice cave explorations.
