Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your English-speaking guide meets you at Changsha Airport or the railway station and transfers you by private vehicle to your hotel in approximately forty minutes. The remainder of the day is yours to rest or begin exploring the city independently.
After breakfast, your guide collects you from the hotel lobby at 9:00 for a full-day excursion to Orange Isle, the remarkable river isle connecting Mount Yuelu to the city centre. Following a lunch at a local restaurant, the group continues to the Hunan Provincial Museum to survey its Han dynasty collections before returning to the hotel by approximately 17:00.
The full day is free for independent exploration of Changsha. Alternatively, choose one of three optional full-day tours: a visit to Hunan First Normal College and Yuelu Academy; an excursion to Mao Zedong's birthplace in Shaoshan; or a drive to Yueyang to visit Yueyang Tower and Dongting Lake. All optional tours conclude back in Changsha by approximately 17:00.
After breakfast and hotel check-out, your guide and driver collect you at the agreed time and transfer you to Changsha Airport or the railway station for your onward journey.
