Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes & Slovenia: A 3-Day Private Adventure
Historic city streets, turquoise cascades, and alpine scenery — three countries, one seamless journey.
This 3-day private tour from Zagreb brings together Croatia's capital city, the UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes, and Slovenia's most iconic landmarks in a single, well-paced itinerary designed for comfort and discovery.
A dedicated guide and private vehicle keep the experience flexible, so you move at a rhythm that suits your group rather than a fixed coach schedule. Skip-the-line entry at Plitvice removes one of the most common frustrations at this popular site.
From the medieval streets of Ljubljana to the cliff-top castle above Lake Bled, the Slovenian leg of the journey offers a striking contrast to the waterfall-filled landscapes of the day before. Each destination is distinct, and the transitions between them are smooth.
Tour Highlights
Walk the wooden boardwalks at Plitvice Lakes, where 16 turquoise lakes cascade into one another through a series of dramatic waterfalls.
Discover Zagreb's layered history, from the Gothic Cathedral and Jelacic Square to the contrasting Upper and Lower Towns.
Roam Ljubljana's Baroque and Art Nouveau old town, crossing the Triple Bridge and the Dragon Bridge on a guided walking tour.
Circle Lake Bled and take in views of the island church and medieval castle perched above the glassy alpine water.
Taste kremsnita, Slovenia's beloved vanilla custard and cream cake, at Lake Bled — a local ritual no visit should skip.
Ride the boat and panoramic train at Plitvice Lakes, covering more of the park with less effort and more perspective.
Travel in a private vehicle with a dedicated guide, giving your group full flexibility on pacing and stops throughout all three days.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your journey begins with a combined driving and walking exploration of Zagreb. Key stops include Jelacic Square, the Cathedral, Bloody Bridge, and both the Upper and Lower Towns, giving you a rounded sense of the city's character and history.
The second day takes you to Plitvice Lakes, one of the world's most celebrated natural sites. A four-hour guided experience includes a boat ride and a panoramic train journey across the park's 16 interconnected lakes and countless cascading waterfalls. You return to Zagreb in the late afternoon.
The final morning crosses into Slovenia for a tour of Lake Bled, where a medieval castle rises from a cliff above the water and an island church sits at the lake's center. Time is set aside to sample kremsnita, the region's signature cream cake, before departing for Ljubljana.
The afternoon is spent in Slovenia's capital, beginning at the Town Hall and continuing through the historical center. Highlights include the Triple Bridge, the Dragon Bridge, the Old and New Markets, and a funicular ride up to Ljubljana Castle for a panoramic view of the city. The group returns to Zagreb in the late afternoon.
