Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your guide collects you from your Alexandria hotel and drives you to the Giza Plateau, approximately two hours away. You visit the three great pyramids, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, all central monuments of ancient Egyptian civilization.
The itinerary continues to Saqqara, where the Step Pyramid of Zoser stands as the world's oldest major stone structure, built during the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser. A lunch break at a local restaurant follows before continuing to Memphis.
Memphis, founded by King Menes and the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, served as the country's political and cultural center for over 3,000 years. You see the Statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx of Memphis before transferring to your four-star hotel for overnight accommodation.
Day two begins with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, which displays artifacts from across 5,000 years of Egyptian history, including the celebrated Tutankhamen collection discovered in the 1920s. You then visit the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque inside the Citadel of Salah El Din, followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
