Itinerary Overview
Arrive in Cairo and settle into your hotel. Over the following two days, visit the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum with its Tutankhamun collection, the Saladin Citadel, the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, the Hanging Church, and the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar.
Travel to Fayoum to explore Wadi El Hitan, the Whale Valley protected area, and its fossil museum. Then head to Bahariya Oasis and spend a night camping in the White Desert among extraordinary chalk rock formations, before returning to Cairo and flying to Aswan.
Spend a day in Aswan visiting the Temple of Philae, the Aswan High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Rise early the following morning for a three-hour drive to the Abu Simbel temples of Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari, then continue to Luxor.
