Snorkeling Trip at Satayh Dolphin Reef from Marsa Alam
Sail to a protected Red Sea lagoon and snorkel alongside a resident school of spinner dolphins.
The Satayh Dolphin Reef snorkeling trip takes you 165 km south of Marsa Alam to one of the Red Sea's most celebrated marine sanctuaries, where a resident community of 60 to 80 spinner dolphins calls the shallow lagoon home. The day combines a scenic two-hour boat crossing, guided snorkeling in crystal-clear protected waters, and a freshly prepared lunch served on board.
Satayh Reef sits inside a natural lagoon that shelters the dolphins from open-sea currents, making it an unusually reliable site for close encounters throughout the year. Alongside the dolphins, the reef hosts a diversity of hard and soft corals together with fish species endemic to the Red Sea, rewarding snorkelers of every experience level.
The itinerary departs from Hamata Marina and returns by late afternoon, keeping travel logistics straightforward for guests staying anywhere along the Marsa Alam coast. The difficulty level is rated easy, and no prior snorkeling experience is required to participate fully in the day.

The boat sails for approximately two hours to reach Satayh Reef, a site enclosed by a natural lagoon with calm, crystal-clear water. The sheltered geography of the reef makes it a permanent habitat for the local spinner dolphin population.

A freshly prepared lunch is served on deck by the on-board chef, accompanied by snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Guests can relax on the boat between snorkeling sessions.
