The Best of Montenegro from Dubrovnik
Discover Kotor, Perast and the island of Our Lady of the Rocks in a single unforgettable day.
This Montenegro day tour from Dubrovnik takes you across the border and into one of the Adriatic's most rewarding coastal landscapes. Over ten hours, you'll visit a baroque island church, walk the streets of a UNESCO-listed medieval town, and have time to explore at your own pace.
The journey begins in Perast, a quiet Baroque town perched along the Bay of Kotor. From the waterfront, a short boat ride brings you to the tiny island of Our Lady of the Rocks, home to a church decorated with 68 frescos attributed to the baroque master Tripo Kokolja.
From Perast, the tour continues to Kotor, where a guided walk reveals the full depth of this fortified medieval town. The old town is entirely encircled by ancient walls, and its narrow lanes open onto squares lined with Romanesque and Gothic monuments.
Free time in Kotor gives you the flexibility to visit St Tryphon Cathedral, widely regarded as a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture, or to step inside the Maritime Museum and trace the city's seafaring history. Those who prefer a slower pace can simply sit in the main square with a drink and take in the atmosphere.
