3-Hour ATV Quad Tour from Santa Teresa Gallura
Fifty kilometers of Sardinian coastline, countryside, and viewpoints — explored from the seat of a two-seater quad.
This ATV quad tour in Santa Teresa Gallura covers roughly 50 km of northern Sardinia's most varied terrain, threading together wild beaches, rural hamlets, and elevated coastal viewpoints in a single half-day outing. Suitable for beginners and seasoned riders alike, the two-seater quads are straightforward to handle, making the experience accessible to most adults. Morning and afternoon departure slots are available to fit different travel schedules.
Santa Teresa Gallura sits at Sardinia's northernmost tip, separated from Corsica by the Strait of Bonifacio, and the surrounding landscape rewards those willing to leave the main roads. The route moves through the island's industrial fringe before opening onto the quieter tracks that connect fishing coves, granite outcrops, and working farmland. A dedicated guide leads the group throughout, setting pace and pointing out landmarks that would be easy to miss independently.
Two beach stops are included along the way — at either Rena Majore or Rena Matteu, depending on conditions — giving participants time to walk the shoreline before the route continues inland. The second half of the excursion climbs toward Buoncammino, where the port of Santa Teresa Gallura comes into full view below, before looping back through the villages of Garassini and Contessa to complete the circuit.
The itinerary also passes through the hamlet of Rena Majore and the countryside around Li Nalboni and Saltara, areas that see comparatively few visitors despite their appeal. Riders reach elevated viewpoints at Littichedda and Cala Pischina, where the road already traveled stretches out behind them across the scrubland and sea.

Itinerary
The excursion begins at the industrial zone on the outskirts of Santa Teresa Gallura, where the guide introduces the quads and outlines the route. After a brief safety briefing, the group sets off along a short stretch of tarmac road.
Within the first portion of the ride, the route arrives at one of two sandy beaches — Rena Majore or Rena Matteu. Participants have approximately half an hour to explore the shoreline before the group continues.
The track climbs toward Cala Pischina and the Littichedda plateau, where the landscape opens up and the terrain already covered becomes visible. These stops offer some of the best vantage points of the entire circuit.
Passing through the village of Rena Majore, the route turns inland toward the agricultural areas of Saltara and Li Nalboni. This section showcases the quieter, rural character of the Santa Teresa hinterland.
The quad track ascends to Buoncammino, where the port of Santa Teresa Gallura is visible from above. The route then crosses through the village toward Garassini and Contessa, where viewpoint stops allow for photography.
The circuit concludes with the return journey to the starting point in the industrial area of Santa Teresa Gallura. The total riding distance is approximately 50 km.
