Itinerary
The route begins at the designated Pico do Facho trailhead on the northeastern side of Porto Santo. Participants receive a brief orientation covering the loop direction and key viewpoints ahead.
Within the opening section of the trail, walkers reach the first open viewpoint looking north and east over the Atlantic. The volcanic terrain here shows clear geological character unique to the island.
The path curves around the upper flank of the peak, revealing the full length of Porto Santo's southern beach. This section offers the widest field of view on the entire circuit.
Continuing around the western side, the trail opens onto views of the island's quieter interior valleys and the low hills that roll toward the western tip. Scrubland vegetation and rock formations define this stretch.
The circuit completes as the path returns to the starting point, closing the loop. The final section provides a last look at the coastline before the descent back to the trailhead.
