Trekking and Snorkelling at Punta Giglio in Porto Conte Park
Nature, history and marine life come together on the wild north-western coast of Sardinia.
This guided outdoor experience takes you through the heart of Porto Conte Park Alghero trekking, combining a scenic hike along Punta Giglio with an expert-led snorkelling session in one of Sardinia's most biodiverse bays. The itinerary is rated easy to moderate, making it accessible for most fitness levels while still delivering a rewarding half-day in nature.
The trek winds through 11 kilometres of protected coastal woodland, crossing terrain shaped by millennia of natural history and decades of military use. World War II fortifications are embedded in the landscape, offering a layer of historical context that sets this route apart from a standard nature walk.
After exploring the headland and pausing for a tasting of local Sardinian products, the group descends to the bay for a snorkelling session guided by a marine biologist. The crystal-clear waters of Porto Conte reveal a rich underwater world, from sea grasses to colourful reef fish, all explained in real time by a qualified specialist.
