Full-Day Sataya Boat Trip and Swim with Dolphins
A full-day journey to the Red Sea's most celebrated dolphin sanctuary
The Sataya Dolphin House is one of the most remarkable marine destinations in the Red Sea, where spinner dolphins gather in large numbers throughout the year. This full-day boat excursion combines an open-water dolphin encounter with two dedicated snorkeling sessions in some of the clearest coastal waters in Egypt.
Sataya Reef, also referred to locally as Dolphin House, sits at the southern end of the Egyptian Red Sea coastline, accessible by boat from the port of Hamata. The site is recognized among divers and snorkelers worldwide for the resident pod of spinner dolphins that inhabit the lagoon. The surrounding reef structure supports an exceptional variety of marine species.
The trip is rated easy, making it accessible to participants without prior diving experience or advanced swimming skills. Snorkeling equipment is provided, and the boat serves as a comfortable base throughout the day. A prepared lunch is included on board between the morning and afternoon activities.
Beyond the dolphin encounter, the reef at Sataya presents opportunities to observe hammerhead sharks, moray eels, and a wide range of reef fish species moving through the coral formations. The combination of a protected lagoon environment and open reef zones provides varied conditions for both beginner and experienced snorkelers.

Itinerary
A minibus collects guests from their hotel in the early morning for the scenic drive south along the Red Sea coast to the port of Hamata. The transfer allows time to take in the desert landscape before reaching the departure point.
After boarding, the boat sets sail toward Sataya Bay. The journey across the open Red Sea provides views of the coastline and surrounding seascape before the reef comes into sight.
Upon arrival at Sataya Bay, guests enter the water for the main dolphin encounter. The resident spinner dolphin pod is typically present in the lagoon, offering a close and memorable experience in open water.
The first snorkeling session explores the coral reef surrounding Sataya. Participants can observe the diverse marine ecosystem including reef fish, coral formations, and larger pelagic species depending on conditions.
A prepared lunch is served on the boat, giving guests time to rest, rehydrate, and enjoy the surrounding sea views before the second snorkeling session begins.
The second session provides additional time in the water before the boat heads back toward Hamata port. Guests are then transferred by minibus back to their hotel, completing the full-day excursion.
