Route Itinerary
The excursion begins at the ANC Tours base in Valados. After a safety briefing and licence check, the group heads out through Azores Parque and climbs to the Miradouro dos Aflitos, an elevated viewpoint with open views toward the north coast.
The route passes the Batalha Golf course before descending into the town of Ribeira Grande on the north shore. From there the group climbs again to Miradouro do Palheiro, offering views back across the northern coastal plain.
This central section crosses the agricultural and forested interior of the island. Riders pass through the hamlet of Lameiro, enter the Coroa da Mata woodland area, and continue through Gramas and Ribeiras on tracks flanked by volcanic stone walls.
Passing through the Parque Industrial area, the group continues toward Remédios da Lagoa. A sit-down lunch is included at this stage of the route, providing a natural midpoint break.
The southern stretch takes riders to the coastal viewpoint of Miradouro de Água de Pau before reaching the shoreline at Praia das Milícias. The route then arcs back through Azores Parque.
The final leg follows Caminho do Torrão, a scenic track that winds back toward the departure point in Valados, completing the coast-to-coast loop.
