Double Kayak Rental at Ponta da Piedade, Lagos
Paddle through sea caves, golden cliffs, and turquoise waters at one of the Algarve's most spectacular coastlines.
A double kayak rental in Lagos gives you the freedom to explore Ponta da Piedade at your own pace, weaving through rock pillars, hidden grottoes, and natural tunnels carved by centuries of Atlantic erosion.
Ponta da Piedade stands as one of the most visually striking stretches of coastline in the Algarve. The amber sandstone cliffs plunge into calm, turquoise waters, forming an almost labyrinthine network of arches and sea caves that reward those who venture in by water.
Kayaking is one of the few ways to access this coastal landscape from sea level, letting you move quietly between formations that larger boats simply cannot reach. The experience suits a wide range of ages and fitness levels, requiring no previous paddling experience.
Departing from the Docapesca slipway near Lagos Marina, you navigate the channel past the Forte da Bandeira and head toward the Ponta da Piedade lighthouse. Along the way, secluded beaches accessible only by sea invite you to stop, rest, and soak in the Algarve sun before returning at your own leisure.

How Your Day Unfolds
Arrive at Lagos Adventure's offices at Docapesca, Armazem n9, near Lagos Marina. Your guide provides a full safety briefing with paddling tips and route guidance before equipment is handed over.
Equipment is checked and confirmed in good condition before you set off from the Docapesca ramp. From here, you enter the navigation channel heading southwest along the coast.
Rounding the historic fort, the coastline opens into a series of beaches, rock stacks, and cave entrances. You have the freedom to enter grottoes and explore coves at your own pace.
Reaching the Ponta da Piedade lighthouse marks the furthest point of the route. Beyond it, the beach at Porto de Mos lies a few hundred metres further — a natural turning point for the return leg.
On the return, take the opportunity to pull up on one of the beaches accessible only by water. This is a quiet moment to rest, swim, or simply enjoy the surroundings before paddling back.
Complete your circuit back to the launch point within the 3-hour window. Equipment is returned in the same condition as received, and your adventure concludes at the marina.
