Discover Cinque Terre National Park and Pisa in a Day from Florence
A single day. Two UNESCO-listed destinations. Memories to last a lifetime.
This Cinque Terre and Pisa day tour from Florence combines the rugged coastal beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the architectural grandeur of one of Italy's most iconic medieval squares. Guided throughout and designed for comfort, this itinerary makes the most of every hour.
Departing early from Florence, the journey heads northwest along the Ligurian coast, where five ancient fishing villages cling dramatically to cliff-faced terrain above the Ligurian Sea. The villages of Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare serve as the day's coastal highlights, each offering a distinct character and atmosphere.
The return route passes through Pisa, where the celebrated Piazza dei Miracoli rewards visitors with a collection of Romanesque monuments unmatched in Italy. The Leaning Tower, the Duomo, and the Baptistery together form a square that has drawn travelers for centuries, and a guided stop here ensures you experience it firsthand.
The pace is moderate, involving train transfers between coastal villages and considerable walking on uneven terrain. Comfortable footwear and a sense of curiosity are the only requirements for a rewarding day.

Itinerary
Meet your guide at Piazzale Montelungo Bus Terminal, a five-to-ten-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella train station. Board the air-conditioned coach and settle in for the two-hour drive to the Ligurian coast, with commentary from your guide along the way.
The coach arrives in La Spezia, the gateway city to Cinque Terre. Your guide leads the group through the train station and onto the regional train, which reaches Vernazza in approximately ten minutes.
Spend around one hour exploring Vernazza's pastel-colored facades, narrow medieval lanes, and scenic harbor. Your guide will point out the best vantage points for photographs before leaving you to explore independently.
A short train ride brings the group to Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five villages and home to the area's most expansive sandy beach. Use this time to swim, eat lunch at a local restaurant, or walk through the historic old town.
After departing the coast, the coach continues to Pisa for a stop at the Piazza dei Miracoli. Walk freely among the Leaning Tower, the Duomo, and the Baptistery, three of Italy's most significant Romanesque monuments.
