Motorboat Transfer to Bue Marino Caves and Cala Luna from Cala Gonone
A half-day coastal journey into Sardinia's most storied sea caves and secluded shores.
Departing from the port of Cala Gonone, this guided excursion brings you face to face with the Bue Marino Caves, one of the most remarkable karst cave systems along the Gulf of Orosei, before anchoring at the legendary beach of Cala Luna.
The cave visit is led by a knowledgeable local guide who explains the geological history of the formations and the site's long connection with Mediterranean monk seals, the animals that gave the caves their name. Approximately one hour inside the caves is enough to appreciate the scale and beauty of the stalactites and subterranean chambers.
After the cave tour, the motorboat continues to Cala Luna, a crescent of white sand framed by limestone cliffs and accessible only by sea or a long mountain trail. The clear, shallow waters make it well suited to swimming and snorkelling during the warmer months.
The fleet serving this route consists of modern, certified motorboats ranging from 13 to 22 metres in length. Vessels are heated during cooler months and ventilated during summer, ensuring a comfortable crossing regardless of season.

Itinerary
Board one of the fleet's motorboats at the port of Cala Gonone. Cave tickets are purchased independently at the municipal ticket office before boarding, using the same time slot as the vessel departure.
The motorboat heads south along the Gulf of Orosei coastline, passing dramatic limestone cliffs that plunge directly into the sea. This stretch of coast is part of the Gennargentu and Gulf of Orosei National Park.
An expert guide leads the group through the illuminated galleries of the Bue Marino Caves. The tour covers the cave's geological origins, its historical use, and its former role as a refuge for Mediterranean monk seals.
The motorboat anchors near Cala Luna, allowing guests to swim, snorkel, or simply relax on the white sand beach. The beach is enclosed by steep cliffs and features a series of sea caves at its southern end.
The vessel returns to the port of Cala Gonone, completing the five-hour excursion. The return navigation offers additional views of the Gulf of Orosei shoreline.
