Dinghy Tour with Snorkeling in Porto Conte and Capo Caccia
Explore the protected waters of northwest Sardinia by inflatable boat, discovering sea caves, dramatic cliffs, and vibrant marine life.
This Capo Caccia snorkeling dinghy tour takes you through one of Sardinia's most pristine marine environments, combining guided navigation with hands-on snorkeling stops in sheltered coves and open sea passages. The tour is rated easy and is open to a wide range of participants, from beginners to experienced swimmers.
Departing directly from Porto Conte, you board a certified inflatable boat — a vessel well suited to navigating the rugged coastline and accessing spots unreachable by larger craft. The bay's only certified tour guide accompanies the group throughout, sharing the natural and cultural history of the Porto Conte and Capo Caccia Marine Protected Area.
The route passes through some of the area's most distinctive landmarks, including the towering limestone cliffs of Capo Caccia and the lesser-known cave of the Palombi on the island of Foradada. Along the way, there are real chances of spotting dolphins, Sardinian deer near the shoreline, and seabirds that nest along the protected cliffs.
The program adapts to weather and sea conditions on the day, ensuring both safety and the best possible experience. Two inflatable boats are available depending on availability, both equipped with shade canopies and boarding ladders for comfortable snorkeling access.

Tour Itinerary
The tour begins at the Porto Conte marina, where you board the inflatable boat and receive a briefing from the certified guide. Snorkeling equipment is distributed and the route for the day is outlined.
The first stop brings you to Cala Dragunara, a sheltered cove with exceptionally clear, calm water ideal for snorkeling. The guide points out the marine species commonly found in this section of the protected area.
The boat navigates the full length of the Capo Caccia headland, offering close views of the limestone cliffs that rise directly from the sea. The guide explains the geological formation and the protected status of the area.
Cala Inferno is a secluded cove enclosed by rock faces, providing a natural swimming spot away from open sea swell. This stop offers a second opportunity to snorkel or swim in protected waters.
The boat circles the island of Foradada before entering the cave of the Palombi, a sea cave accessible only from the water. The cave is one of the lesser-known features of the marine park and a highlight of the route.
The boat returns to Porto Conte marina, completing the three-hour circuit. The guide remains available for questions about the area throughout the return journey.
