Ancient Corinth Half Day Tour
Walk the stones where Apostle Paul once preached and explore a city at the crossroads of two civilisations
The Ancient Corinth half day tour brings you from Athens to one of the most strategically important cities of antiquity, a place that shaped commerce, culture, and early Christianity in equal measure.
Departing Athens in a comfortable, latest-model Mercedes vehicle, you travel southwest to the Peloponnese, reaching the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth in roughly an hour. The journey itself offers sweeping views across the Saronic Gulf and the narrow Isthmus that once made Corinth the envy of every Mediterranean power.
At ground level, the site reveals colonnaded streets, a remarkably preserved Temple of Apollo, and the Bema where, according to the Acts of the Apostles, Apostle Paul stood before the Roman governor Gallio. The on-site museum holds mosaics, sculpture, and pottery that place the ruins in vivid historical context.
The tour continues to the commanding heights of Acrocorinth, the fortified acropolis that rises more than 570 metres above the plain. From its medieval walls you look out across the Gulf of Corinth, the Saronic Gulf, and on clear days far into the Attic and Peloponnesian mountains.

Itinerary
Your driver collects you from your Athens hotel or an agreed central meeting point. The drive to Ancient Corinth takes approximately one hour along the Athens-Corinth motorway, passing the Saronic coastline and the Isthmus of Corinth.
Arrive at the main archaeological zone and explore the remains of the ancient city, including the Temple of Apollo, the Fountain of Peirene, the Lechaion Road, and the large Roman-era Agora. Entry tickets are purchased independently at the site.
Locate the Bema, the elevated platform identified as the spot where Apostle Paul appeared before Gallio around 51 AD. The adjacent museum presents artefacts spanning Neolithic through Byzantine periods.
Drive up to the entrance of Acrocorinth and walk through its triple-gated fortifications. The summit offers exceptional views and the ruins of temples, chapels, and Ottoman structures accumulated over more than two millennia of continuous use.
Depart for Athens following the same motorway route, arriving back in the city approximately five hours after your original departure time.
