Hangzhou City Break: West Lake, Leifeng Pagoda & Ancient Streets
Four days of culture, history and natural scenery in one of China's most celebrated ancient capitals.
This Hangzhou private tour guides you through four thoughtfully paced days in Zhejiang Province's storied capital, where classical waterscapes, bronze pagodas and historic merchant streets coexist with a forward-looking modern city.
Hangzhou has long captured the imagination of travellers and poets alike. Recognised as one of China's seven ancient capitals, it carries centuries of dynastic heritage within a landscape shaped by the West Lake and the surrounding forested hills.
Private transfers and a dedicated guide ensure that each day unfolds at your own pace. Beyond the structured visits, generous free time allows independent exploration of neighbourhoods, tea pavilions and local markets.
Optional excursions to Wuzhen Water Town or the UNESCO-listed Liangzhu Archaeological Ruins offer additional depth for travellers who want to venture beyond the city limits.
Tour Highlights
Cruise across West Lake by boat, taking in mountain backdrops, classical bridges and the famed Fairy Island from the water.
Explore Leifeng Pagoda, the oldest colourful bronze pagoda in China, standing above the southern shore of West Lake.
Walk Qinghefang Ancient Street, a living archive of teahouses, artisan workshops and traditional pharmacies in the heart of the city.
Visit Huqingyutang, a protected national cultural relic and one of China's most historically significant traditional pharmacies.
Choose from optional excursions to Wuzhen Water Town or spend two days at the UNESCO World Heritage Liangzhu Archaeological Site and the Anji Bamboo Sea.
Discover the Anji Bamboo Sea, home to the world's most extensive collection of bamboo varieties, on an optional overnight extension.
Benefit from a very easy difficulty rating with private transfers throughout, making this tour accessible to a broad range of travellers.
