The Acropolis and Athena Lindia
Lindos was a great religious centre, not only of Rhodes but of the whole of Greece, because of the sanctuary of Athena Lindia.
The rock is crowned by the Acropolis, which was the centre of life of the settlement and had its heyday in the 7th-6th century BC. At the top stand the Temple of Athena Lindia and ruins of monuments from antiquity, the Byzantine era and the time of the Knights, such as a Hellenistic stoa, the church of Agios Ioannis (13th century) and the administrative building of the Knights. Slightly below the Acropolis are the ancient stadium and a small open-air theater.
Whitewashed village and two bays
The traditional settlement is built amphitheatrically beneath the rock, with whitewashed houses and chapels, houses dating back to the 17th century, captains' mansions, Byzantine churches of the 11th century and the church of Panagia (1489-1490).
Lindos beach, below the settlement, offers quiet clear waters, and Saint Paul, close to Lindos, lies in a small bay with two small beaches and clear green water.

From Rhodes by bus
By bus, Lindos is reached from the Central Bus Station of Rhodes, a journey of 50 km (31 miles) that takes 1 hour and 40 minutes (timetable may vary).
