en savoir plus sur Île de Philae

Philae Island is a sacred temple complex located in southern Egypt along the Nile River near Aswan. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features the stunning Temple of Isis, one of the most photographed monuments in Egypt, along with other ancient structures that showcase Ptolemaic and Roman-era architecture.

What to see in Philae Island

Visitors should not miss the Temple of Isis, the island's centerpiece with its impressive pylon gates and decorated chambers. The Temple of Trajan, known as Kiosk of Trajan, and the Gate of Hadrian are other notable structures showcasing classical architecture and intricate carvings that offer insight into ancient Egyptian religious practices.

Things to do in Philae Island

Boat tours from Aswan provide the primary access to the island, offering guided visits to explore the temples at your own pace. Many travelers combine visits with cruises along the Nile or day trips to the nearby Aswan Dam and other archaeological sites in the region.

The Relocation of a Sacred Monument
