Pyramids of Giza & Egyptian Museum Day Trip from Hurghada

An air-conditioned bus collects guests from their hotels in Hurghada in the early morning. The drive to Cairo crosses the Eastern Desert, and comfort stops can be arranged along the route.

Arrive at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities on Midan El Tahrir, one of the world's most important repositories of ancient Egyptian heritage. Highlights include the Tutankhamun collection with its gold death mask, the royal Mummy Room, and thousands of statues and artifacts spanning every major dynastic period. Allow approximately one hour inside the museum.

A midday meal is served at an Egyptian restaurant between the museum visit and the afternoon excursion to Giza. This provides a natural break before the second half of the day.

The afternoon centers on the Giza Plateau, where the three Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx are located on the west bank of the Nile. The Sphinx — a reclining limestone figure oriented east — stands at the foot of the plateau and dates to the same era as the pyramid complex. Allow approximately two hours to walk the site.

A stop at the Egypt Papyrus Museum on Pyramids Road explains the origin and production of papyrus, one of the oldest forms of recorded communication. The museum demonstrates how sheets were made from the papyrus plant, which once grew abundantly along the Nile Delta.

The bus departs Giza in the late afternoon for the return journey to Hurghada, arriving at hotels in the evening. The total drive time each way is approximately four to five hours.
