Itinerary Overview
Begin at Sainte-Mere-Eglise, the first town liberated on D-Day by US Airborne Divisions, and visit the Airborne Museum. Move on to Brécourt Manor, where Easy Company captured four German Howitzer guns, then walk Utah Beach and explore the WN62 bunkers at Omaha Beach. Close the day at Pointe du Hoc and the Normandy American Cemetery.
Spend a full day at Mont Saint-Michel, exploring the island, the Abbey, and the stories of the monks, pilgrims, and knights who shaped it over more than 1,000 years. In Avranches, the Scriptorial reveals how the Abbey's precious manuscripts were created. The nearby Cornille Havard Foundry in Villedieu-les-Poeles, heir to a medieval tradition, shows how monumental bells are still cast by hand today.
Visit Falaise Castle and its holographic dukes, then continue to Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives, where William the Conqueror assembled his fleet of 1,000 ships in 1066. Stop at the Castle of Crevecoeur-en-Auge, the best-preserved medieval fiefdom in Normandy, before concluding with the Bayeux Tapestry and a tasting of Camembert and Calvados.
