Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your guide collects you from your hotel and transfers you to the bus station. The approximately 7-hour journey to Cairo travels through the Eastern Desert and along the Red Sea coastline, arriving in the city in the morning.
Your Cairo guide meets you on arrival and leads you directly to the Giza Plateau. You will visit the three Great Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, with time to explore the Valley Temple as well.
The afternoon is spent at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, where you will spend around two hours among its extraordinary collection of ancient artifacts. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit Khan el-Khalili bazaar in Old Cairo before checking in to your 4-star hotel for the night.
Day two begins early with a visit to the medieval Citadel of Saladin on Mokattam Hill. Inside, you will see the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, built between 1828 and 1848, which dominates Cairo's skyline.
The tour continues through the historic Coptic Quarter, encompassing Fort Babylon, the Hanging Church, the Church of St. Barbara, the Church of Abu Serga, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. This area holds the remnants of cities that predated Cairo itself.
After the Coptic Quarter, you are transferred to the bus station for the return journey to Hurghada. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel upon arrival.
