Your private air-conditioned vehicle collects you from your hotel in the early morning. The scenic drive across the Eastern Desert takes approximately five hours, arriving in Luxor ready to begin your exploration.

Cross the Nile to the West Bank and enter the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs of the New Kingdom were laid to rest in elaborately decorated tombs. Your guide will introduce the stories behind the tombs of Ramses II and Tutankhamen, whose interior decorations remain remarkably well preserved.

Visit the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which rises in grand terraces against the limestone cliffs of the Theban Mountain. Nearby, the two colossal statues of Amenhotep III — each standing around 18 metres tall — mark the site of what was once the largest mortuary complex on the West Bank.

Around midday, pause for lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor. This gives your group a chance to rest and refuel before crossing back to the East Bank for the afternoon.

Spend the afternoon at the Temple of Karnak, the largest religious site of the ancient world. Built over generations by successive pharaohs, its hypostyle hall, obelisks, and sacred lake collectively illustrate the ambition and devotion that defined ancient Egyptian civilisation.

After visiting Karnak, your driver will take you back to your hotel along the desert road. You can expect to arrive back at your accommodation in the evening after a full and rewarding day.
