Itinerary
Your guide and driver collect you directly from your Hurghada hotel in the early morning. The drive west across the Eastern Desert to Luxor takes approximately three hours through open desert landscape.
The tour opens on the East Bank at the vast Karnak complex, where successive pharaohs added pylons, obelisks, and hypostyle halls over more than a thousand years. Your Egyptologist guide explains the religious significance and architectural evolution of the site.
A sit-down lunch is served at a local restaurant in Luxor, giving the group time to rest before crossing to the West Bank. The meal is included in the tour price.
After lunch, cross the Nile by Felucca to the West Bank. The first stop is the Colossi of Memnon, the two enormous seated statues that are the last visible remains of the Temple of Amenophis III.
Enter the royal necropolis where the New Kingdom pharaohs were interred in elaborately decorated rock-cut tombs. Your guide leads you through several open tombs, detailing the myths and rituals associated with the ancient Egyptian concept of the afterlife.
The day concludes at the three-tiered mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, set dramatically against the cliff face of Deir el-Bahari. Afterward, the group boards the vehicle for the return drive to Hurghada, arriving in the evening.
