Cairo and Luxor in Two Days from Hurghada
Pyramids, pharaonic tombs, and ancient temples covered in a single seamless journey from the Red Sea coast.
This 2-day tour from Hurghada to Cairo and Luxor combines the country's two most storied destinations into one carefully structured itinerary, using domestic flights to eliminate long overland segments and maximise time at each site.
On day one, a private vehicle collects you from your hotel and transfers you to Hurghada Airport for the short flight to Cairo. Your Egyptologist guide meets you on arrival and leads you through the Giza Plateau, the Egyptian Museum, and the medieval lanes of Khan El Khalili before an evening flight carries you south to Luxor.
Day two begins on Luxor's West Bank, where the Valley of the Kings reveals three royal tombs carved deep into the limestone cliffs, followed by the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and the twin Colossi of Memnon. The afternoon visit to the Karnak Temple complex closes the historical arc before a private vehicle returns you to Hurghada by road.
Tour Highlights
Walk among the three Pyramids of Giza and stand before the Great Sphinx on the plateau west of Cairo.
Explore the Egyptian Museum and its unrivalled Tutankhamun gallery, housing treasures sealed in his tomb for more than 3,500 years.
Browse the alleys of Khan El Khalili, Cairo's historic bazaar, for a street-level encounter with the city's Islamic heritage.
Enter three decorated royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings on Luxor's West Bank, where New Kingdom pharaohs were buried.
Visit the terraced temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, dedicated to Egypt's most celebrated female pharaoh.
Tour the Karnak Temple complex, the largest religious structure ever built, spanning more than 100 hectares on the East Bank.
Travel between cities by domestic flight, preserving energy and time rather than enduring multi-hour overland drives.
Itinerary
A private air-conditioned vehicle transfers you from your hotel to Hurghada Airport for the morning flight to Cairo. Your Egyptologist guide accompanies you to the Giza Plateau to visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple of Chephren. Lunch is served at a local restaurant near the site.
After lunch the group moves to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, where collections from five millennia of civilisation are on display across more than 100 galleries. The Tutankhamun rooms, containing gold funerary objects, jewellery, and the iconic death mask, receive particular attention. The afternoon ends with a walk through the historic quarter of Khan El Khalili before transfer to Cairo Airport.
An evening domestic flight connects Cairo to Luxor in under an hour. A local representative meets you at Luxor Airport and transfers you directly to your hotel for overnight accommodation.
After breakfast your guide escorts you across the Nile to the West Bank. The morning is devoted to the Colossi of Memnon, three tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and the three-tiered mortuary temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Luxor.
The final stop is the Karnak Temple complex on the East Bank, where hypostyle halls and sacred lakes document nearly 2,000 years of continuous construction. After the visit, a private vehicle departs Luxor for the approximately four-hour drive back along the desert highway to your hotel in Hurghada.
