Itinerary
The tour begins with skip-the-line entry to the Hofburg Palace Complex, avoiding the standard ticket queue. Inside, your guide leads you through the Sisi Museum, where personal items belonging to Empress Elisabeth are on display, before moving into the Imperial Apartments once used by Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife. Expect narrow, crowded corridors inside the museum, so staying close to your guide is important. After the indoor visit, the group continues outdoors through the Hofburg courtyards and gardens, taking in the surrounding architecture and open spaces before the 2 hour 30 minute tour concludes.

Before you go
This tour departs from Vienna with date and time booking, and multiple start times are available throughout the day, from morning through mid afternoon. Arrive 10 minutes before your chosen start time, as latecomers cannot join the group or receive a refund. Tours run in one language only, as selected at the time of booking. Headsets are provided when the group reaches 18 or more participants, with a maximum of 25 participants per group. This activity is not suitable for individuals with disabilities. There is no luggage storage for bags or extra clothing, and pets are not allowed. Hofburg tickets include timed entry to skip the ticket line, and the corridors inside the Sisi Museum are narrow, crowded and loud, so staying close to your guide is necessary. In 2025, the Sisi Museum is under renovation, so access to certain rooms and exhibitions is restricted. Entry to the courtyards, Heldenplatz and Burggarten is free. The gardens are not green or lit in winter, so a morning tour or a visit in spring, summer or autumn is recommended. In bad weather, an alternative route is offered, and from 8 November to 31 December an alternative visit to a local Christmas Market may be offered instead. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the forecast. Bookings can be changed or cancelled through the portal used to make the booking, and current pricing is available at checkout.
