From Alghero: Sailing Tour in the Porto Conte Park
A full day of wind, water, and wild Sardinian coastline aboard a classic 10-metre sailboat
This Alghero sailing tour brings together the crystalline coves of the Gulf of Alghero and the protected marine landscapes of Porto Conte National Park in a single unhurried day on the water. Small groups, authentic on-board Sardinian food, and direct access to spots unreachable by road make this an experience that stands apart from the usual day-trip circuit.
The route takes in two of the most photogenic anchorages along this stretch of coastline: Cala dell'Olandese, better known as Capo Galera, where the water shifts from jade to deep turquoise, and the sheltered bay of Porto Conte, enclosed by forested headlands and largely free of tourist crowds. Time is built in at each stop for swimming and snorkelling directly from the boat.
Food is prepared and served on board rather than at a beach bar, keeping the day relaxed and uninterrupted. A Sardinian aperitif of cured meats, local cheeses, carasau bread, and olives gives way to a pasta dish with fresh cherry tomatoes and bottarga, the island's prized cured mullet roe. Myrtle liqueur and coffee round off the meal before the return leg.
The sailboat is a 10-metre vessel with two cabins, a bathroom, shaded deck areas, and a freshwater shower, giving passengers a comfortable base throughout the day. The skipper adjusts the itinerary in real time according to wind, sea state, and conditions, so flexibility is built into every departure.

Itinerary
The tour begins at the Alghemar Pier in the port of Alghero. Once all passengers are aboard and safety briefings are complete, the skipper sets sail into the Gulf of Alghero.
The first anchorage is at Cala dell'Olandese, also called Capo Galera, where the boat drops anchor for approximately 45 minutes. Passengers can swim directly from the boat using snorkel masks provided on board. A Sardinian aperitif of cold cuts, cheeses, carasau bread, and olives is served at this stop.
The sailboat continues along the coast into the protected waters of Porto Conte National Park. The navigation leg offers views of the limestone coastline and the chance to spot seabirds and, occasionally, dolphins.
The boat anchors in the Bay of Porto Conte for a lunch break of approximately one hour. A pasta dish with fresh cherry tomatoes and Sardinian bottarga is served on board, accompanied by water, wine or beer, soft drinks, myrtle liqueur, and coffee.
Depending on conditions and the skipper's assessment, the route includes a stop at Dragunara Cove, a tucked-away inlet with calm, clear water suited to a final swim before the return.
The sailboat makes its way back along the Gulf of Alghero to the departure pier. The exact return time varies with conditions, but the full tour runs for approximately eight hours.
