Day-by-Day Itinerary
Your driver collects you from your Hurghada hotel in the early morning for the overland transfer to Cairo. Upon arrival you meet your private guide and head directly to the Giza Pyramid Complex, which includes the Great Pyramid (147 m tall, built over 20 years using approximately 2.3 million stones), the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx — 73 m long, 20 m tall, and the oldest known monumental sculpture in the world. The Valley Temple, the only surviving granite mortuary temple at Giza, is also included.
After lunch at a Nile-view restaurant, you visit the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. The collection spans 5,000 years of art and includes the complete Tutankhamun treasury — gold, jewelry, and ceremonial objects sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years. The evening ends with check-in at the Mena House Hotel near the pyramids.
After breakfast and hotel check-out, your guide leads you to the Citadel of Saladin, a fortress begun in 1176 and completed in 1182, which anchored Cairo's defense and governance for nearly seven centuries. Inside the Citadel complex you visit the Mosque of Mohamed Ali, constructed between 1830 and 1848, its interior walls lined with pure alabaster — hence its popular name, the Alabaster Mosque.
The afternoon moves to Coptic Cairo, where the Hanging Church, the Church of Abu Serga, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue form one of the most concentrated areas of early Christian heritage in the world. The day closes with time at Khan El Khalili bazaar and the historic Al-Muizz Street before your private transfer back to Hurghada, or an optional evening domestic flight from Cairo.
Guests choosing the overland return travel by private car back to Hurghada and are dropped at their hotel. Those opting for the domestic flight depart Cairo in the late evening and arrive in Hurghada approximately one hour later.
