          Landmannalaugar is a highland region in south-central Iceland known for its geothermal hot springs and colorful rhyolite mountains. Located in Rangárþing ytra, the area features multi-hued peaks formed by volcanic activity and mineral deposits. Visitors hike between hot springs, traverse mountain ridges, and camp in the raw Icelandic wilderness during the brief summer season.
          Landmannalaugar is located within the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the southern highlands of Iceland, approximately 180 kilometers from Reykjavik at an elevation of around 600 meters. It serves as the northern terminus of the Laugavegur hiking trail and is accessible only by F-road or highland bus between late June and early September.
