          Hosios Loukas is a Byzantine monastery located in Central Greece, near the town of Distomo in Boeotia. Built in the 10th century, it stands as one of the finest examples of middle Byzantine architecture, featuring intricate mosaics and frescoes depicting religious scenes. The monastery's main katholikon church showcases exceptional gold-leaf decoration and marble work. Visitors typically explore the monastic complex and admire the interior artwork.
          Hosios Loukas Monastery is located on the western slopes of Mount Helikon in the Boeotia regional unit of central Greece, approximately 150 kilometers northwest of Athens and 25 kilometers from the archaeological site of Delphi. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990, it represents one of the finest surviving examples of Middle Byzantine architecture and mosaic art, dating primarily to the early 11th century.
